-sex workers deserve to be treated like human beings, so fuck tumblr
-people deserve to be free to talk amongst themselves about sex and sexuality without being censored, so fuck tumblr
-when Ferguson was happening and BLM first was organized to try to protect black folks in the USA, tumblr did this same shit (censoring and hiding posts from people about the subject)
-this has been coming for years
-this was signaled when SESTA/FOSTA was passed and has been in the works ever since
-the government doesn't have to directly enforce this because it enforces Apple, which enforces their app store, which scares Tumblr into submission
-Tumblr's owned by Verizon and has been since 2017
-monopolies are bad, and also, brand loyalty is bad when you're loyal to a big store
-just because a store hires hip young people to be their spokespeople doesn't mean they're not a big store
-if there's locations of this brand outside your home state in the USA, it's probably a big store and should not be trusted, nor do you owe your loyalty
-brand loyalty allows our choices to be limited because we are saying we are content and willing to accept the choices offered only by one brand
-this limits creativity and controls self-expression both in the market (creation of media) and in personal expression (control of social spaces, online and off)
-you do not have to provide surveillance on yourself by participating in these things, but neither should you be denied access to tools and platforms simply because of your sexuality or gender or line of work
-anyway, dreamwidth is less image heavy and it sounds like vids might be tough to host here, but that's okay for me 'cause I write more than I do either of those things
-that said, I will probably not only be here. However, I will try to be here more than I was.
